Jade Raymond is now portable...

The shrouded mysteries behind the Nintendo DS version of Assassin's Creed were finally uncovered via the appearance of the game's box art. Assassin's Creed: Altair Chronicles is a prequel to the original game and will follow Altair's story before the events for the console version.

The game is being developed by Gameloft, who is most famous for developing Prince of Persian Classic for the Xbox Live Arcade. They also developed many mobile games, including one for Assassin's Creed.

Looks like many of the features from the console version will be intact for the handheld game. Assassin's Creed: Altair Chronicles will have a 3D-rendered world that can be fully explored. Interrogation and pick-pocketing also returns with some extra touch-screen flavor.

Assassin's Creed: Altair Chronicles for the Nintendo DS is schedule to be released in February.
