EA and Criterion Games bring the destructive XBLA and PSN title to iPhone and iPad.

A few months ago, we told reps from Electronic Arts that Burnout Crash! seemed like a perfect fit for iPhone and iPad.

Apparently, the company agreed. Criterion Games' addictive action/driving game will appear on the App Store this fall.

The iOS version lets users steer vehicles with a touch screen wheel and then tap to trigger explosions, causing tons of property damage along the way.

They'll also enjoy three modes (Rush Hour, Road Trip, Pile Up), 18 traffic junctions and six unique locales, complimented by a groovin' 80s and 90s soundtrack featuring artists like Vanilla Ice and Gloria Estefan.

On top of that, players will compete against friends via the Autolog technology made popular in the Need For Speed franchise. They can even send head-to-head challenges online.

"We're very excited to bring Burnout Crash! to iOS," said Richard Franke, Creative Director. "The game's super simple controls make it perfect for a mobile platform and it will give Burnout fans a chance to take the fun of Crash mode with them wherever they are."

We didn't get to spend nearly enough time with the console edition, so this portable Burnout Crash! will definitely find its way into our rotations. Look for it soon.
