Show those zombies who's boss with our beginner's guide.
Do your chores
Be sure to take at least the daily spin on the fruit machine for some bonus currency. It's also worth getting into the habit of checking out the Bonus Missions section in the top-left of your HQ. Here you can take on missions that might increase your stats or currency-earned for a fixed amount of time.
It's also important to do the best you can in rescue missions. Every survivor you can collect before they're chewed to pieces goes towards a rescue tally. The more survivors you can rescue, the more you can have rescued in an airlift, and the bigger the reward you'll receive for doing so.
Keep checking on your tasks in the right-hand corner of the screen. Fulfilling these mini-challenges will reward you with some much-needed currency and help steer you through the progression of the game.
It's a trap!
The flashing doors and tiles that are in the game are all worth interacting with, but make sure you have a few rounds in your gun (or switch to melee first), as they're as likely to contain a zombie as they are a nice chunk of change!
Work on your stats
It's never explicitly explained in the game (and the tab lies far to the right of even the cosmetic upgrades), but you should definitely think about increasing your player stats every bit as much as you upgrade your weapons.
Dexterity will increase your barricade repair speed, Health Regen Speed increases the rate at which your health restores, Health Capacity increases the amount of maximum health you can have, while Movement Speed does exactly what the name suggests!
It's tempting to plow the money you earn into advanced weaponry every time, but these stats will keep on aiding you long after you've moved onto the next great weapon.
Know thy enemy
Out on the rooftops, different enemy types can cause you all kinds of different problems. Those enormous, overweight zombies? Make sure you're armed with a ranged weapon when you take them on, as they'll explode in a shower of rather damaging guts when they go down!
You should also be aware of your surroundings and where your safe spots are, so you have a path to retreat backwards through whenever a heavy swarm of invaders appears.
