Don't get left behind! Our in-depth guide has all the help you need.

Catch the Ark is out now on the App Store and has stormed up the charts this weekend. We reviewed the game at the end of last week, and awarded the game a very well-deserved 4 out of 5 stars for its fantastic environments and fresh approach to the endless-runner genre.

Since then we've pulled together all of our top hints and tips for Catch The Ark, so read on if you want to truly master the waterways.

What are the objectives in Catch The Ark?

Put simply, you need to steer your raft around the obstacles and avoid collisions for as long as possible. Should you hit either an object or a creature, you'll lose one of your crew members. Lose all three and it's game over.

How do missions work in Catch The Ark?

The mission system gives you objectives to work towards, such as flying over so many ramps or playing a certain number of games in total. It's always worth ticking off these objectives, as you'll receive a decent coin reward for each mission set that you manage to complete.

How do I survive Noah's attacks in Catch The Ark?

Make good progress and you'll occasionally have to contend with Noah's rear-facing attacks against your craft. When you see the warning sign flash up, be ready to dodge the explosive barrels that will appear. You'll often need to steer between a handful of these, so concentrate! Once the attack has ended, the usual game resumes.

How do Game Changers work in Catch The Ark?

Keep a very close eye out for the mini power-ups that will occasionally litter the river surface. Passing over one of these will activate it and give you special powers for a limited amount of time, such as the ability to chomp through those pesky crocodiles. Be ready for when they expire though as you'll become vulnerable again.

What are coins used for in Catch The Ark?

There's a good reason to collect as many coins as you can in Catch The Ark. If you go to the Store, you can pick up some great upgrades to help you get further in the game. Here's a guide to how each one of them can enhance your progress:

Cost: 1,500 coins

Description: "The Pterodactyl power-up allows players to skip 2500m to the sunset area.

This upgrade is great if you're getting tired of running the easier early stage of the game over and over. Note that you only get one use of the Pterodactyl for each purchase you make.

Cost: 3,500 coins

Description: "The Parachute brings back a character that has previously fallen off the raft."

If you're close to a high-score, you might want to think about calling in the Parachute upgrade. If you've lost a crew member, this upgrade will bring them floating back to the raft so you can push onwards for an even higher score.

Whale Tail

Cost: 5,000 coins

Description: "Once the round ends, the whale will whack titan an extra 1000m."

If you want to get just a little bit further on a round, activating this upgrade means your last remaining crew member will be given a mighty wallop, propelling them an extra kilometer through the jungle in the process.

How do I get the coin magnet effect in Catch The Ark?

If you can get your coin-collecting combo up to level 10, you'll activate the magnetic coin effect. This will draw all nearby coins towards you automatically, leaving you free to concentrate on the path ahead. This re-activates every 10 combo levels, so keep your coin streak going for as long as possible!

How can I get more coins in Catch The Ark?

First of all, make sure you keep your coin-collecting combo going in each run, as you'll be rewarded with extra coins for a long chain. If you go too long without picking up a coin, you'll lose your delicious combo streak. Alternatively, you can challenge a friend over Facebook to receive 1,000 coins for free.

Finally, if you still need more coins, you can head into the in-app purchase store to buy some more with real-world money. Prices vary between regions, so check the pack prices from your device.
