Modojo

Writers Wanted!

Modojo is looking for a few new slav- er... a few new contributors. Do you fit the bill?

Modojo is looking for a few good men (and women)! Exciting developments are (as always!) afoot, and it's time to expand our editorial ranks to make sure we're the best site we can possibly be for this very important upcoming Spring.

Benefits of joining the Modojo team include:

-Entrance to industry-only events including GDC, BREW, CTIA, and other trade shows.
-The opportunity to have your work read by thousands.
-Occasional free PSP, DS, & GBA games for members of the review/preview team.
-An opportunity for beginning writers to get their foot in the door, and hone their skills with no previous experience necessarily required.
-An opportunity for aspiring writers to develop a body of work, while working with a team of writers, samurais, belligerent robots, and gelato-loving dictators.
-Current writing positions are volunteer, although as Modojo grows we intend to expand our paid editorial ranks.

Modojo is currently hiring for the following positions:

News Team (3 openings)
"Just the facts, Ma'am." If you're the kind of gamer that is constantly refreshing gaming blogs and subscribed to 140 gaming RSS feeds, this position might be for you. Writing news is the best opportunity to get a start here at Modojo.

Requirements:
-Strong grasp of mechanical written English. You don't need to write with flourish, but you need to write with proper grammar.
-Daily availability. The news never stops, so this isn't a twice-weekly position. We aren't slave-drivers, but news writers need to have more flexible availability than review/preview writers.

Reviews/Previews Team (2 openings)
Opinionated about the handheld games you play? Do your friends come to you for advice on what to pick up? Enjoy breaking down and articulating why, specifically, you did or didn't enjoy a game? Then we want you for our reviews/previews team!

Requirements:
-PSP ownership is a MUST. Modojo has too many DS fanboys as contributing editors already :) You will be covering the DS too, if you like, but you must own a PSP.
-That's really the only hard & fast requirement besides being able to write well and express yourself via the written word.

All interested applicants should send an email to justin@modojo.com with the following:
-Why you want to contribute to Modojo.
-What position you're most interested in filling.
-What previous experience you have, if any.
-If you do have previous experience, please send a writing sample along in the body of the email.
-Some details about yourself. Age, location, hobbies, whether or not you like long walks on the beach, gelato, etc.

Thanks for your interest!
