Most Addictive Game Free Review

Semi addictive, comes with an online leaderboard, free.
Not designed for people with sausage fingers.
You need some big hairy polygons to title your iPhone app, Most Addictive Game. So if anything, designer Charles Jamerlan wins brownie points for moxy. His free video game (there's another version for .99), despite failing to live up to its name, is moderately enjoyable. Besides, it comes with an online leaderboard. Putting one of those into your game is akin to rubbing a dog's belly. We'll love you long time.
With Most Addictive Game, Jamerlan challenges you to maneuver a red box within a larger white box without A.) touching an edge, and B.) running into the four blue shapes (two rectangles and two squares) moving around the playfield. As we expected, the goal is to see how long you'll last before hitting something, and that proves difficult since the shapes quickly speed up.
To play, you drag the red box with a finger. This, unfortunately, is the game's biggest flaw, since your finger obscures a hefty chunk of screen real estate. It doesn't kill the experience, but dying because the player can't see a quarter of the screen doesn't scream fun.
Fortunately, Most Addictive Game comes with an online leaderboard that includes the world's best scores. Cracking the top ten, however, may take some expert fingering. The top score, last we checked, is 91.44 seconds.
That, of course, is what makes Most Addictive Game somewhat entertaining, the idea that you can probably beat that score. Ultimately, that's what fuels us to keep playing. That said, we still can't get over the finger problem, and until Jamerlan offers a solution (whatever that is), Most Addictive Game is little more than a dull tech demo.
