Blood Brothers 2
Welcome to your newest addiction.
DeNA invites players to revisit the world of Arnashia with Blood Brothers 2, sequel to the immensely popular mobile game. You're free to once again create and upgrade your army, then pit these warriors against computer controlled adversaries and even friends in PvP mode. Is it as good as the original? Let's find out.
The Good
Blood Brothers 2 is a strategy role playing game built on a rock-paper-scissors battle system. Each commander is a cavalry, archer or sword fighter class. You determine which commander and classes are at your disposal and how you want to send them into the battle. There are many different characters to play as and unlock. There are trolls, goblins, wizards, elves, sorcerers and more to choose from, ultimately providing a wealth of options at your disposal.
The Bad
Blood Brothers requires an online connection to play. For some people who don't have unlimited data or a consistent Internet connection, this is a big deal. The game also runs off an energy system when you play, meaning you can't play through a mission without using some of that energy. If you don't have enough energy to play certain missions, you have to wait for it to refill or pay to fill it up. This isn't a problem for the first couple missions, but afterwards you can usually play one or two before having to stop.
The Verdict
Blood Brothers 2 is a great strategy game. The artwork looks unique and there are a lot of interesting generals to assume the role of. The game is held back by an unforgiving stamina system and its need of a constant Internet connection, but don't let these issues prevent you from experiencing what is an otherwise quality effort.
