E3 2006: Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2
The Minis begin their march
In the original Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Mario was trying to find all the Mini Marios. This time, it's up to them to save the day. Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis for the Nintendo DS will have players using the stylus and the touch screen to guide Mini Marios through mind-boggling, obstacle-filled levels.
The story tells of how the immense commercial success of the Mini Mario toys has landed Mario more money than he knows what to do with. Deciding to fulfill his lifelong dream, he opens a theme park called Super Mini Mario World.
On the opening day, Donkey Kong and Pauline (the woman Mario was attempting to rescue in the original Donkey Kong) show up amidst a huge crowd, and the giant ape once again falls head over heels in love with the charming lass. When Pauline rejects DK's advances, he becomes enraged, smashing all the toys and attractions and taking Pauline to the top floor of the amusement park. From here on, you should know how it goes.
The game allows players to create their own maps with a new level editor, and once a map is created, players can send it across the world via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Players can also use the Wi-Fi service to download maps created by others, check out a player-ranking system and access special bonuses.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis for the Nintendo DS should see a release September 25, 2006.
