Nintendo NX Will Not Use Android As Its Operating System
This probably should have been obvious.

Rumors have been swirling around for some time now that the upcoming Nintendo console, code-named NX, will be utilizing the Android operating system. It's been a case of speculation online for a good while now, and finally a Nintendo representative, speaking to the Wall Street Journal, has shot these rumors all the way down.
"There is no truth to the report saying that we are planning to adopt Android for NX," says Nintendo, and if you sit and think about it for longer than five minutes, why would Nintendo adopt Android for a proprietary console that'll likely run off of the same infrastructure as the Wii U or Nintendo 3DS? Just didn't seem to o likely from the start.
What fueled these rumors were the fact that the Japanese paper Nikkei ran a report that the console would use Android in an effort to improve open development for the console. Wonder how that got out there without official confirmation? In any case, we've got a lot more surmising to do before we see an official product. How do you think Nintendo's going to handle the NX?
