XSEED Games is Bringing The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Westward
The Legend of Heroes franchise is a long-running and very well-respected role-playing series in Japan from Nihon Falcom, and we've only seen a small sampling of the games' touching narratives here in the West. XSEED Games plans to change this with the upcoming release of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel this fall in North America and Europe. We'll also be seeing the sequel, but the date has yet to be announced for that.
Trails fans and newcomers will be able to enjoy this tile for Vita and PlayStation 3 (cross-save compatible) even if they've never played any of the other English games before. This is actually the first one in the series, with an extensive narrative that follows students of a military academy who use special abilities in combat and the new "ARCUS" system to win their battles. It's a long, winding storyline that fans of the series will be sure to enjoy, and new players will be excited to check out.
I'm interested in seeing how the franchise starts out, especially since I vastly enjoyed the last The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky on PSP. This will definitely be on my list of titles to check out as it comes down the pipeline.
