First Look: Deep Labyrinth
First-person RPG on the DS courtesy of Atlus
Atlus revealed last week that it'll be bringing Marvelous Interactive Inc.'s Deep Labyrinth over to North American retailers for the Nintendo DS, and today we've managed to get our first look at the promising first-person RPG.
Originally released for mobile phones, Marvelous has reworked the game to take full advantage of the Nintendo DS's unique features; adding touch screen control and providing a dual screen view.
A young boy and his dog take a trip through the countryside one day, discovering a mysterious castle in the process. Curiosity rears its ugly head as the boy decides to descend into the dark heart of the Deep Labyrinth, where magical creatures and monstrous foes surely await.
The game features a real-time combat system, where both swords swings and spell casting can be performed by use of the stylus. Credits for the game include Scenario Designer Masato Katou (Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy XI Online) and musical score by Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Cross, Xenosaga).
Deep Labyrinth for the DS is scheduled for release in the fall of 2006. Stay tuned to Mo for more details in the near future.
