First Look: Freedom Wings
Take to the skies on Nintendo's handheld
It was the age of aircraft, and though many took to the skies out of necessity for transportation, there were those that used aircraft to prey upon others. In order to stop the pirates of the skies, a group was formed among the world's top pilots, called the Air Patrol Association (A.P.A.), and together they fought for peace amidst the skies.
Freedom Wings is a new flight action title for the Nintendo DS from developers Natsume, and will have players take to the skies in a full 3D environment. As you progress through the game's various missions and submissions, a host of different aircraft will become available for purchase, along with upgrades for new parts and weapons.
Featuring stylus control for plane maneuvering as well as lock-on mechanisms, the game will also allow up to 4 players to engage in wireless multiplayer dog fights.
Look for Freedom Wings on the DS sometime this July. Check back before then for a full report.
