Star Wars: Uprising Looks Familiar, Yet Freemium Flawed
There are a veritable bounty of new Star Wars games and properties launching soon with the arrival of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Star Wars: Uprising is one of them. It received its first official trailer today that shows off alpha gameplay footage and a vague September 2015 release date, as well as the familiar trappings of a free-to-play game that looks as though it may well be designed to suck you dry.
While creating your own Jedi and characters looks interesting, there's not much to go on here aside from the fact that you'll likely run into timers, premium currency, and other issues that'll have you debating whether or not to spend more out of pocket to enjoy the game or wait for the timers to run out while watching more Star Wars. Hopefully this won't be the case, but we've still got quite a while to wait before we can find out exactly. In the meantime, check out the above trailer and start thinking of cool Jedi and Sith names. I want to be Maul Darth. Is that too close to an existing character?
