Story of Seasons Becomes XSEED Games' Fastest-Selling Title Of All Time
A tale about farming and getting close to your neighbor rose to the top for the niche game publisher.
Story of Seasons for 3DS was one of my long-anticipated titles that finally made its way onto the handheld this past year, and it opened to some very impressive figures. In fact, it sold more than 100,000 units to date in North America alone since it debuted on March 31.
Not only did it sell a lot of copies, it quickly became XSEED Games' fastest-selling title of all time, the company has announced, alongside October's Rune Factory 4, which came out in October 2013. It has sold over 160,000 units in North America since it hit store shelves, and that's all very telling.
It seems there is, very much so, a market out there for farming games and calm, relaxing adventures that require fans to take a step back and nurture something here and there, as both games have a very laid-back nature that ask players to get in tune with nature and all it offers, placing the focus on growing things rather than destroying them, which is the theme for most games.
Did you pick up Story of Seasons? Were you impressed by all it had to offer?
