Exist Archive is tri-Ace's Upcoming Vita RPG
Colorful and a bit eerie, wouldn't you say?
tri-Ace has a new side-view RPG coming to PS Vita and PlayStation 4 later this year in Japan, and it's a partnership with Spike Chunsoft. If that sounds like a dream team to you, you're right -- the project is called Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky, and it's absolutely gorgeous.
It takes place in modern day Tokyo on the planet Protolexa, after an explosion in Tokyo prompts the evil god Yamatoga to kill the game's team of 12 heroes, including the protagonist -- how often does that happen? After everyone dies, they're brought back to life and become immortal, then embroiled within tiffs between the gods and their own quarrels and fights.
Directed by Valkyrie Profile's Masaki Norimoto with character designs by Love Plus' Mino Taro, this RPG sounds like it was made expressly to appeal to modern portable RPG fans, but who knows if we'll see it make an appearance in America? For now, enjoy the absolutely breathtaking art and we can keep wishin' and hopin'.
