Introducing Apple's Two Newest Phones
...And I just upgraded, of course. Isn't that how it goes?
There's been a veritable cavalcade of new announcements from Apple today, including some huge product reveals. The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are coming just around the corner (is anyone surprised?) with a special new Rose Gold variation in addition to what's already available.
The new iPhones will feature 3D Touch, which you'll be able to use with shortcuts to apps, such as pressure-sensitive app integration and haptic feedback. In short, it could be a huge step forward for mobile gaming as a whole. Warhammer 40K: Freeblade was demonstrated on the new iPhone 6S using 3D Touch, and it showed off the ability to aim in-game by swiping along the screen. Then, using harder presses, the demonstrator fired shots. Using different degrees of pressure, games will be able to play games in a much different way than every before.
Both phones will come as the same prices as their previous installments: $199 and $299 respectively, with Apple Stores offering a new iPhone Upgrade Program that grants you a new iPhone every year with an unlocked phone (sounds like something I should have gotten in with!). The preorders begin on September 12th, and the new phones will be available as of September 25th. Better get to preordering if you don't want to miss out!
