Pokemon Go Is The Next Best Thing For Pokemon Trainers
Ever wondered what it would be like if you could play Pokemon in the real world, or at least capture Pocket Monsters? Wonder no more, as The Pokemon Company is bringing Pokemon to the real world with the upcoming Pokemon Go, slated for release on both Android and iOS. One of the most ambitious projects in the Pokemon world to date, Pokemon Go will, like popular augmented reality game Ingress (the development team working on this game previously worked on Ingress) coax players to leave their houses and go out into the real world to "catch" Pokemon. Think of it like geocaching, but in a much cooler way.
With the app a small watch-like device will launch as well, which will act as an alert for when Pokemon are available for capture out in the wild, and will even allow you to "throw" a Poke Ball to capture one of the creatures as you discover them in the wild. It could even be used in newer installments of Pokemon waiting around the bend. It's such a modern and interesting twist on the classic Pokemon role-playing elements, and I can't wait to see where it goes from here, especially if you're going to be able to connect with others using something as simple as what is glorified GPS tracking. One step closer to becoming real-life Pokemon trainers? Could be!
