Square Enix Details Dragon Quest Builders' Experience System
Here's how you'll level up within the town of Merkid.
Square Enix has released a group of new screenshots and additional details surrounding its latest Dragon Quest release, Dragon Quest Builders. The town players will be exploring gets fleshed out a bit more in the video above, as well as experience points and recipes.
The town will be used as the "base" of sorts for the protagonist, who can create buildings and other structures and level up from there. He'll learn new recipes for creating additional items as well. While building new structures, the protagonist will also earn experience points that can be used to level up. You must raise the Camp Gauge enough to get to that point first, however. You'll earn experience as well depending on the items you place within the buildings you erect.
Dragon Quest Builders will be launching for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita in Japan on January 28, so there's only a few months left to wait for it. Square Enix has yet to announce a Western iteration.
