Activision Becomes King of Candy Crush Saga
Activision looks to crush the competition.
In an extremely shocking move as of last night, Activision Blizzard has gone forward with a deal that has just effectively made it the largest video game publisher in the world. Activision went forward with the deal that is expected to be completed as of spring 2016 to buy out King, the publisher of the hit mobile game Candy Crush Saga, for a whopping $5.9 billion.
Although details are still scarce, this might be Activision's big push to compete in the mobile market against EA and Square, who already have a substantial mobile presence. In any case, it'll be interesting to see what Activision has in store for their new acquisition in the months to come.
