You Can Download and Play With Miitomo This Thursday
Finally, after all the fanfare and waiting, we're going to be able to check out Miitomo, Nintendo's very first mobile app for smartphones, on Thursday, March 31. Are you excited? I've been planning out which Mii I want to use for months.
Miitomo will allow you to create your own Mii to connect with friends for conversations meant to hopefully reveal more of your friends' personalities. You're meant to learn more about them this way. If you want to import the Mii you have from your Wii U or Nintendo 3DS you can use a QR code to import them or just create a brand new one. You and your friends can then have a virtual hang-out in your Miitomo room within the app.
If you're worried about having to pay, it's free to start Miitomo, and you'll be able to earn special coins by completing missions (add new friends, your social media accounts, etc.) These coins can be used to tweak your Mii's outfits and accessories, as well as play Miitomo Drop, a minigame enclosed within the app.
I don't know about you, but I'm ready to get started. This is a brave new world for Nintendo and I'm excited to see what happens from here.
