Square Enix's Project: Rising Finally Revealed
...and it's not as exciting as you probably thought it was.
Remember when we were all curious as to what Square Enix's upcoming Project: Rising was supposed to be? It was announced last week and there was even a special trailer for it. Looks like Square Enix has spilled the beans, and it's not that exciting. Rather than a new Final Fantasy project or a new IP or something awesome like that, it looks like it's just the code name for the free-to-play title Samurai Rising, and it's got a new trailer to take a look at as well.
Basically, the same artist responsible for Bravely Default worked on this title, which focuses on four-player co-op modes that feature Final Fantasy-like multiplayer classes, like the Black and White Mage, Dragoon, and more. There's a Malboro too, so it's not clear what kind of Final Fantasy influence there is here in all. There's already a pre-registration page up for Japanese users if you want to give it a try, but there's not been a US release announced just yet. Give it some time though. We'll probably see it coming on over in a year or so. Hopefully it makes a big splash so we can still see new titles from Square Enix soon!
