Nintendo Mech Title for DS Revealed
Nintendo pits players in the cockpit
The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu reveals that a new mech game is currently in development for the DS, coming from Nintendo themselves. Titled Chousouju Mecha MG, the game is being worked on by developer Sandlot, and will feature a unique control scheme that will allow players to directly control their mech using the stylus to interact with the cockpit (somewhat like Steel Battalion on the Xbox).
Players will assume the role of 13-year-old Martin who becomes an MG operator after a successful clash against an enemy robot. The game progresses as you complete various missions, and as many as 100 different MG mechas are promised to be featured throughout the course of the campaign.
Chousouju Mecha MG for the Nintendo DS is currently without an official release date in Japan, and whether or not we'll ever see this title make it over to North America is another story. Check back soon for more updates.
