New Zealand Story DS Confirmed
Another classic en route to Nintendo's handheld
Continuing its line of Revolution brand titles (updating classic games), Rising Star Games confirmed today what was once a rumour that one of the more original titles of the 1980s, The New Zealand Story, would receive a re-telling on the Nintendo DS.
New Zealand Story Revolution will retain much of what made the original game so distinctive while still adding a glossy new coat of innovative features and additions. Tiki the Kiwi bird takes center stage in this adventure, as he embarks on a series of level-completions to ultimately save his kidnapped friends from some form of ghastly seal lion.
Players can expect the game's settings to remain relatively unhampered, with various layouts and challenges to receive somewhat of a remix in order to freshen things up a bit. In terms of visuals, a vast overhaul does not appear to be the idea, as the DS title serves to provide a much cleaner and even more vibrant display than its arcade predecessor.
New Zealand Story Revolution for the Nintendo DS should arrive in stores later this year, but you can expect a more in-depth preview from us sometime before than.
