Shogun Warrior on the DS
Yet another title from Namco to make DS owners happy...
Continuing Namco's significant support of the Nintendo DS, a new title called Shogun Warrior has been revealed to be in development by the company. Featured in the same Nintendo Power magazine which contained the first showings of GoldenEye: Rogue Agent and Age of Empires II: Age of Kings, it is reported that this new title will be an RTS (real-time strategy), making specific usage of the DS's touch screen features.
In this game you must unite feudal Japan under your rule by conquering neighboring armies. Various military tactics will be at your disposal, as players must decide the best possible method to employ during combat. The handheld's stylus will be used much like a mouse would in PC iterations of the genre, allowing players to individually move troops across battlefields, and issue specific commands with ease.
Certain situations in the game will bring up a variety of mini-games which players will have to perform successfully using the touch screen in order to achieve certain goals. Shogun Warrior is said to display impressive 3-D graphics, and will also support 16 player wireless battling. No release date has been given at this time.
