The GBA Fabulous Fourteen
We made this list specifically so you all can tell us how wrong and stupid we are...
The Game Boy Advance - it truly was handheld heaven, was it not? Maybe it's tough to take our opinion seriously, since we are a handheld only site, but for our money the GBA was the best system ever released, handheld or otherwise.
After all, the GBA ended up with many of the games that made the SNES a classic, including Link to the Past, Super Mario World, and Yoshi Island, not to mention brand new 2D goodness that just felt oldschool like Sonic Advance, Advance Wars, and the Castlevania trio.
Since the GBA is on its last legs (although it's still very much alive as we've pointed out recently), we decided it was time to give the system's best games the send-off they deserve. This feature outlines the 14 Game Boy Advance games that we feel triumph over the competition. They're the system's best, plain and simple.
You'll find no ports or compilations on our list, however. As many hours as we put into the likes of Phantasy Star Collection, the Mario Advance titles, and other such games, the GBA had too much awesome original content to spend time dwelling on all the retro goodness it received. You'll also only find one entry per franchise. Sure both Advance Wars titles are awesome, but it makes more sense to only recognize one of the two, in order to best spread the love.
Read on for our list of obvious (and not-so-obvious) choices...
