Gurumin PSP North America Bound
The Japanese handheld RPG coming stateside
Mastiff has announced today that it will publish Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure for the PSP in North America. The 3D action-RPG comes from developers Nihon Falcom, creators of the Y's series, and is set for release sometime Q1 2007.
The game's story tells of a girl named Parin who is sent to live in a small mining town with her grandfather while her parents are off on an excavation. With little to do around town, Parin is left to her own devices, until one day when she encounters another child resident. Shocked to discover that the child is a monster, she follows her new companion through a crack in the wall and finds herself in Monster Village.
Around the same time this happens, Phantoms attack said village, causing turmoil and committing various abductions. Determined to help, Parin learns of a Legendary Drill, powerful enough to destroy the Phantoms, and so she sets out on a quest to make things right.
The Legendary Drill will act as a key gameplay element, as it is capable of destroying nearly every object you'll encounter. Like any RPG, you can expect to encounter a large cast of interesting characters, venture through puzzle-filled dungeons, and defeat any number of menacing enemies.
We'll have more details on Gurumin: A Montstrous Adventure's localization as they becomes available, along with a full review of
