Gameloft Leads AIAS Finalists
EA Games and Hands-On also receive nominations
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) announced the finalists for its 10th annual Interactive Achievement Awards, with Gameloft garnering two of the four nominations in the mobile category. The complete list:
- Orcs & Elves (Fountainhead Entertainment / EA Mobile
- Tropical Madness (Gameloft)
- Duckshot (MoFactor / Hands-On Mobile)
- Brothers in Arms 3D (Gameloft)
Awards are given in over 30 categories, determined by a panel of over 300 judges. Epic Games' Gears of War leads the pack with ten nominations, followed by Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with eight.
This marks only the second year that mobile gaming has been recognized with it's own category at the awards - last year Glu Mobile's Ancient Empires II took home the top prize, with nominations also going to High Seize (Red Lynx), Mile High Pinball (Bonus.com), One (Digital Legends), and Skipping Stone (Gamevil).
Eligible Academy members will vote this week with the winners to be announced at the Interactive Achievement Award ceremony on February 8, 2007 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas as part of the D.I.C.E. Summit conference.
A complete list of nominees can be found at the AIAS website.
