Player X Partners with Sennari for PrizePlay Titles
Mobile media company Player X announced today a partnership with CRM-oriented mobile game developer Sennari. The deal will see PrizePlay functionality implemented in Player X's library of TV gameshow licensed games, with Family Fortunes being the first to receive the PrizePlay makeover.
Sennari's PrizePlay structure has consumers buying tokens instead of mobile games themselves. These tokens are then spent on a pay per play basis, with the top performers in the games of skill awarded physical rewards including such as gift certificates and digital rewards such as ringtones.
"We are delighted to be working with partner like Player X that has both the global distribution to drive users into the PrizePlay ecosystem and the licenses to build compelling applications around. Player X saw the ARPU advantages of connected applications that allow pay per play and rewards, the end to end process of working with them has been very straight forward," Sennari CEO Bill Barhydt said in a statement.
"The TV Gameshows titles are confirmed evergreen titles and two top positions in the 2006 ELPSA charts underline this. PrizePlay is a perfect way of evolving the franchise and the game format is perfect for a play-to-win model," Player X CEO Tony Pearce said.
Family Fortunes is due out on UK carrier decks in Q1. Blockbusters and The Price is Right have been announced as future Player X PrizePlay titles. Player X noted that it does intend to roll out PrizePlay titles globally, but no timetable was given.
