THQ Wireless Predicts 45 Percent 2007 Growth
THQ revealed aggressive wireless growth expectations for the 2007 calendar year in the company's earnings conference call earlier this week, despite the company's recent wireless turmoil. Company CFO Ed Zinzer stated that 2007 wireless revenues "are expected to show growth of approximately 45% to almost 30 million," which would place 2006 THQW net revenue at around $21 million.
CEO Brian Farrell specifically cited the acquisition of the console & mobile rights of the upcoming Pixar film Ratatouille, as well as plans for a mobile version of the smash-hit Lego Star Wars franchise as likely key drivers of 2007 mobile revenue.
"...under the new agreement with Disney and Pixar, we have rights to the film Ratatouille, which should be a big driver. Under our Star Wars license, we're going to be bringing Legos Star Wars," Farrell noted.
Farrell addressed the continuing "realignment" of the company's wireless product line, as well.
"...in wireless, the takeaway is we've done what we said we were going to do, we've realigned the product line, we've got the expenses in line with the revenue, and now the challenge is, let's really drive those revenues."
