I-Play Partners with Slingo
Mobile game developer and publisher I-Play today announced a global licensing deal with casual game developer Slingo. The move will further extend the company's library of casual, "one thumb" mobile games, which is currently made up primarily of licensed titles from iWin.
The popular Slingo Quest was singled out as the first title to receive the mobile treatment. The game was recently nominated by the Casual Games Association (CGA) and casual game fan site GameZebo for a "Zeebys" award, in the best puzzle or card game category. The game combines the mechanics of bingo and slot machines, and Slingo noted that the largest group of individuals that interact with the title are 25-29 year old women.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Slingo to bring the Slingo franchise and suite of games to mobile. Slingo has demonstrated proven success in the online games space, as seen by the millions of gamers who visit Slingo.com and play Slingo games on a regular basis. The Slingo brand and franchise of games is a perfect match for I-plays ongoing, strategic focus on the casual gamer audience," I-Play's Senior Vice President of Content Strategy and Licensing Leighton Webb said in a statement.
Slingo.com boasts an impressive level of stickiness - browsers spend an average of 45 minutes at the site per visit. The site has over 3.1 million registered users, and an average of 1.25 million unique visitors a month.
