Wipeout Pure Additional Content Details
New tracks, new ships, and a whole lot more planned for download...
Communication Manager of Sony's Studio Liverpool, Nino Ceraolo, has today confirmed solid details to GamesRadar.com pertaining to the additional downloadable content for the PSP game Wipeout Pure.
They have reported that 12 extra tracks and 4 different ships will be available along with an entirely new team and front-end skins through downloadable packs; though this is only the first line of new materials that the company will be adding to the game.
Ceraolo also mentions that the new content will integrate itself into the game, providing an array of new tournaments. The 12 new tracks are made up of a few environments which were originally planned to be in the main game, as well as some courses taken from the previous Wipeout games with somewhat of a makeover.
With regards to the release, and possible price, of the content, Ceraolo explains, "We want to make sure all downloadable content isn't already out in Japan and America before the European launch," he says. "We want to get people to use the extra content, so for the first six months I can't see there being any paid-for content - it's not something we want to do."
The new Wipeout Pure content will be available for download from the game's official website. Gamers who plan on partaking in this endeavor should consider purchasing another memory stick, as the content will reportedly take up the 32MB of space available in the stick provided in the PSP value pack.
