Final Fantasy VII: AC Website Launched
One step closer to an eventual release...
Square Enix announced today that the official US website for its upcoming computer-generated movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children has gone live.
The events of the movie take place two years after the dramatic conclusion of Final Fantasy VII, which released exclusively on the Sony PlayStation video entertainment system back in 1997. Fans have been begging the game's creators for years that they would produce some form of continuation of the game's story. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is a sign that their prayers have been answered.
This fully developed home video sequel to one of the most popular role-playing games of all time will be available on both DVD and UMD mediums. The latter is currently available exclusively on Sony's PSP handheld video game system, and will be released some time before the DVD version.
For more information, visit the official Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children website. Currently the website features a trailer for the film, and a basic story outline. Many of its menu options are labeled "coming soon", so be sure to check up on the site again in the future for further information; specifically a solid release date.
