Ubisoft Pledges Gizmondo Support
First Up: The Limbless One
Along with the promised 89 games due in 2005 (as reported in this story yesterday), it appears Ubisoft will be developing four flagship titles for Tiger Telematics Inc's Gizmondo handheld console. Among those titles, the only one confirmed thus far is the platformer, Rayman, which will be in full 3D (no word on whether or not it it will be a port of Rayman's recent adventures or a brand-new title).
Others Ubi titles should be announced within the next few months. Again, while nothing has been confirmed, one could speculate that big-name franchises such as Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia could be planned for the Gizmondo (both titles are also in development for the PSP and Nintendo DS).
Marketing Director of Ubisoft, John Parks, commented, "Gizmondo has a feature-rich product with ambitious plans that will invigorate the handheld gaming sector. We're delighted that our Rayman franchise will be making its debut on this new format, and look forward to exploring further partnerships in the near future."
Modojo will have more on Ubi's Gizmondo lineup as they are revealed.
