Hands-On CEO Resigns
Hands-On Mobile announced today the resignation of CEO Jonathan Sacks, effective immediately. Sacks will continue to sit on the company's board, however. Sacks joined Hands-On two years ago in part to help the company expand into "to broader applications and technology offerings."
It would seem this goal is well underway via the company's HOMBRE development platform, its Yatta-Video user-generated video service, and its FunkySexyCool mobile social networking application. The latter two services have yet to make their US debut.
The full story regarding Sacks' resignation remains unclear - abruptly resigning to "pursue other interests" often indicates an executive was forced from their post, yet Sacks is staying on as a Hands-On board member, and seems to have had at least a moderate degree of success broadening Hands-On beyond just games.
Additionally, a new CEO will not be chosen from within the company. The board has instead "retained an executive search firm to find a new CEO."
"The Company has a very solid direction, and management team- supported by top notch talent throughout the Company- capable of carrying our vision to a successful future. I am excited to stay involved as member of the Board," Sacks said in a statement.
"We appreciate all of Jonathan's contribution to the continued growth of Hands-On Mobile. Our overall strategy, product and technology plan will remain unchanged and will be executed by a strong executive management team," Lynne Crawford, President and Chief Operating Officer, Hands-On Mobile said in a statement.
