Turner Broadcasting System selects GlobalFun in European Distribution deal
London, 9th August 2007 GlobalFun, a wireless entertainment development and publishing company and Turner Broadcasting System, have today announced that GlobalFun will work as the prime Pan European distributor for mobile games based on Adult Swim series The Brak Show and Cartoon Networks Johnny Bravo
The deal follows a previous announcement that GlobalFun is currently developing and partly distributing the mobile version of The Brak Show.
Johnny Bravo is a long-running and hugely popular half-hour series which follows the adventures of a biceps-bulging, karate-chopping free spirit who believes he is a gift from God to the women of the earth. The platform game Johnny Bee Good is built around Johnnys character to create a fun game of skills and judgment. It has high appeal to both male and female mobile players.
The Brak Show is based on Brak, a frenzied space pirate who is the star of this new animated sitcom. He lives in outer space, in an American suburbia mid-1960s neighbourhood. The Brak Show follows Brak and his best friend, Zorak, who attend Learnmore High School which becomes one of the venues for much of their mischief making.
The Brak Shows game is a sim/social type of game, scripted to follow a mega episode of the show, with the touch of its zany sense of humor. It can be played either as Brak or Zorak, each with his own small storyline converging into a bigger one. The objective of the game is the same for both characters, which is to convince Braks father to stop an invasion of Alien Ants from Outer Space. However, each character has different mini stories of their own.
Casey Harwood, Senior Vice President, Interactive, Wireless and Communication said: GlobalFun have proven themselves to be both a solid mobile games developer and distributor, and the extension of this deal is a reflection of that. We look forward to working with them on the distribution of these games for The Brak Show and Johnny Bravo.
Marcus Johansson, CEO of GlobalFun, adds: Turner Broadcasting, with its extensive reach across many platforms, is a very exciting company to work with. We are proud and happy that they have expressed confidence in our work to date, and look forward to bringing the games to market.
