Barry Cottle Joins EA Mobile as General Manager
EA announced today that Barry Cottle has joined the company as Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA Mobile, replacing Mitch Laskey, who left the company earlier this year for Benchmark Capital. Prior to joining EA, Cottle served as CEO of mobile software applications developer Quickoffice.
Although Cottle does not have any games experience, he has had a long and varied career in the mobile content space. Prior to Quickoffice, he served as COO of Palm Computing's Mobile Content and Wireless Service business. He also served ten years at Disney, as SVP of Marketing for Disney TeleVentures, an early Disney Cable and New Media division.
"Barry has an impressive track record spanning across the entertainment, cable TV, high tech, wireless, mobile content and business software sectors," A Casual Entertainment Label President Kathy Vrabeck said in a statement. "He brings a deep understanding of consumer content services that will help EA Mobile grow the market through unique product offerings and expanded buying models. Barry's passion for the mobile segment makes him a great fit for leading EA Mobile to its next level of growth."
