Gizmondo Receives Million Dollar MTV Sponsorship
Tiger Telematics making itself known across Europe...
Tiger Telematics Inc. announced today that they have made a deal with MTV for a multi-million dollar sponsorship of their new handheld, Gizmondo. Along with this deal are plans to open 21 new flagship stores all across the world.
Conversely, Gizmondo Ltd will be sponsoring the MTV Europe Music Awards 2005 as well as the MTV at the Movies initiative in order to broaden their identity with the young people of Europe.
"This multi-level partnership offers the perfect synergy between MTV Europe and Gizmondo," said Dave Sibley, MTV Networks Europe executive. "MTV Europe is renowned for its credible music and youth programming whilst Gizmondo undoubtedly takes mobile entertainment to a new level."
The deal effective for 12 months will begin on May 1, introducing billboards, promos and dedicated ad spots running across MTV Europe's 124 million households. The MTV Europe Awards will take place in Lisbon on November 3, where the Gizmondo is expected to have a strong presence.
The Gizmondo handheld entertainment system is currently only available in the UK, with a launch in Ireland on April 19. Plans for release in North America and Continental Europe are soon to follow afterward.
