Gameloft Cleans up at 1st Annual Wave Awards
Heroes in their own right.
Gameloft announced today that two of its most popular TV-based titles, Heroes: The Official Mobile Game and CSI: Miami won awards presented by the Academy of Wireless Arts, Video and Entertainment.
The Academy of Wireless Arts, Video and Entertainment recognizes the best in mobile entertainment and communications, as voted on by the general public. It allows consumers to vote on titles based on their perceived value, quality and entertainment.
"The Wave Awards selects the best mobile games available and we are proud to have two of our titles win this esteemed recognition," explains Gonzague de Vallois, senior vice president of publishing, Gameloft. "This honored distinction demonstrates the success licensed mobile titles can achieve with innovative production, in-depth storylines and stellar gameplay, all of which allows fans to feel even more immersed with their favorite hit-television series."
It would seem that at least on the mobile platform, movie games aren't necessarily cursed to be the crap people assume they'll be, but that may be attributed to lower required production costs and development time at the moment. Hopefully this trend remains intact as mobile games continue to evolve.
