DS Adventure Game Utilizes Real-Life Locations
A game for your inner cartographer.
A detective adventure game, tentatively titled, Zenrin Co., Ltd. has been announced for the Nintendo DS in Japan. Its unique premise involves using knowledge of real Japanese locales and maps to advance the gameplay.
This isn't the first game to use reality as an immersion tool, but it's the first I can think of that hasn't come from a North American developer. This sounds like one game you don't want to be using a FAQ for (it'd be like going into Star Wars with Homer Simpson).
The game is currently scheduled for spring of 2008. A stateside release is probably about as likely as George Carlin joining the Catholic Church.
