MYST for Nintendo DS Coming to America
Nintendo DS just got a lot more MYSTerious
Empire Interactive announced today that MYST for the Nintendo DS will be coming to North America this spring.
MYST was originally released for the PC in 1993. In the game, players must find clues and solve puzzles on the mysterious island. MYST went on to sell millions (for some time, it was even the best-selling PC game of all time) and produce a number of sequels and spin-offs.
The original game was also ported to many platforms, the latest of which is the Nintendo DS. Empire Interactive completely reworked MYST to take advantage of the Nintendo DS features. The stylus and bottom screen will be the main control method to MYST; they will be used for tools and navigation.
"As one of the strongest video game franchises in history, with more than 12 million games sold, we felt it was only natural to partner with Hoplite Research and Cyan Worlds to bring MYST to an innovative system like the DS," said Karim Farghaly, vice president of sales, Empire Interactive. "The DS addition to the MYST game library allows players to take advantage of the new features created exclusively for the DS, while still maintaining the integrity of this classic game, creating a refreshed, on-the-go adventure experience for players of all ages."
A best-selling game on a best-selling system; sounds like a perfect match to me. MYST for the Nintendo DS is scheduled for a March release in North America.
