Hudson Launches Bomberman Land: Battles on Mobile Phones
Bomberman, Bomberman, mass destruction across the land...
Bomberman Land: Battles is now available for mobile phones, according to Hudson. The title will be a follow-up to the million-selling precursor, Super Bomberman.
Bomberman Land: Battles will feature 32 huge maps with branching paths. The path you chose will lead to one of fifth-teen power-ups in the game. You will need all the power-ups you can find as five enormous bosses are impatiently waiting for your challenge. After you defeat them, you can fight the bosses again (plus other Bombermen) in VS. mode.
"The Bomberman franchise remains one of Hudson's best-selling and most-recognized properties," said John Greiner, President and CEO of Hudson Entertainment. "By bringing the Bomberman Land series to mobile phones, we are continuing to expand the fan base of this adventure-oriented series while also introducing some of the franchise's longtime console supporters to the mobile game market."
Bomberman Land: Battles for mobile phones is one of three games in the series that will be released in January. Aside from the mobile game, Bomberman Land (for the PSP and Nintendo Wii) and Bomberman Land Touch 2 (for the Nintendo DS) will be released simultaneously on January 29th. Seems a little excessive to me although this wasn't the first, and certainly not last, time Bomberman has been milked.
Bomberman Land: Battles is available now for all major BREW and Java mobile phones.
