Namco Releases Atlantis Sky Patrol
It's only marbles, Charlie Brown.
You wouldn't know it just hearing the name, but Atlantis Sky Patrol is actually a marble matching game. Boasting over 100 levels, you'll be asked to destroy a group of doomsday devices -- with marbles no less -- by matching up marbles speeding down a track before they reach the detonation core for each particular device. The onslaught of marbles (I'm heavily resisting the use of the word balls here) will continue until that device's stationary control mechanism has been suitably destroyed. The destruction of each device will net players money that can be used for upgrading their ship. Additional gameplay mechanics will allow for advanced chains that not only grant the player more points but will also give them access to a number of power-ups including the soul of atlantis, the oriphculum bomb (oi, what kind of marbles are these?) and the less epic sounding rainbow hammer.
Who knew we were training our kids to be future world defenders when we tossed them that sack of little colored glass balls.
