New Need For Speed Title Announced
First details and screen of EA's next racing installment
Electronic Arts officially announced today a new title in their popular Need for Speed arcade racing franchise. Entitled Need for Speed: Most Wanted, this official confirmation settles rumors earlier in the year surrounding the game's development.
It will be available on the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance, although a recent addition to games list at the Toys 'R' Us website suggests that it could eventually become a PSP title as well.
EA mentioned that the title will combine "the thrill of illicit street racing and tuner customization with the intensity of strategic police pursuits," and feature "a dynamic open world." By evading police, players will build a street reputation, and thusly be challenged to more impressive races. Further illegal acts will allow players to progress through a black list, as they become the most wanted racer on the streets.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted is set for release in North America this November. Further information, along with the first screen of the game, can be seen at the game's official website.
