Glu and Fox Mobile Announce More Ice Age Games
Clear skies at 40 below.
Glu's just announced that they've acquired the rights to develop two more titles based on the 3D-animated Ice Age franchise. One will reportedly be a mobile exclusive released sometime in the summer, while the other will coincide with the release of the third movie.
"Our initial work with Fox on Ice Age 2 proved a tremendous commercial success," said Greg Ballard, president and chief executive officer, Glu. "We're excited to have the opportunity to build on that success with our new mobile-exclusive ICE AGE game scheduled for summer of this year, and with a subsequent mobile game based on Fox's Ice Age 3 movie, scheduled for release in 2009."
Ice Age 2, was apparently one of Glu's selling titles for the 2006 year, and they're hoping to replicate that success with these next two installments.
"Glu's ability to execute on a worldwide basis, their creative abilities, and their understanding of the Ice Age brand makes them the logical partner for the Ice Age franchise," said Mitch Feinman, Senior Vice President, Fox Mobile Entertainment. "We're pleased to be working with Glu in bringing our worldwide audience new ways to interact with the Ice Age characters they've come to know and adore."
