GDC 2008: Hands-On Mobile Launches Heroes Lore: Wind of Soltia
Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
The number 1 selling mobile game franchise in South Korea is now available in the U.S. Hands-On Mobile's Heroes Lore: Wind of Soltia sold more than 100,000 copies in the first month alone in Korea.
"Since the launch of the first Heroes Lore game, the franchise has become a phenomenon, generating more than two million downloads in Korea," said Michael Temkin, Chief Technology Officer and EVP Operations at Hands-On Mobile. "The North American mobile audience is ready for a true role-playing game so we're bringing a proven success to market. Mobile users will be amazed at the game's quality and depth, with more than 30 hours of gameplay."
As one of three playable characters (knight, rogue or guardian) in Heroes Lore: Wind of Soltia, gamers will traverse a huge world filled with exotic locations and battle fierce monsters every step of the way. It's nice to see a developer actually putting a lot of effort and content into a mobile game.
Wind of Soltia is the first game in the best-selling franchise. Heroes Lore 2 and 3 is already out in Korea and has broken sales records respectively. We will have to see if the franchise can achieve the same success in the U.S.
Heroes Lore: Wind of Soltia is availble now on selected handsets. You can try the demo by texting LOREDEMO to 46966.
