GDC 2008: Starwave Mobile to Bring GOSUB 60's Mobile Games to America
There's a submarine under these waves...
Starwave announced at GDC 2008 that they have reached an agreement with GOSUB 60 that will bring casual games to mobile phones in America.
Under the terms, GOSUB 60 has a more direct path to Sprint and Verizon Wireless decks thanks to Starwave's sales and distribution network specialties. This deal could also be the first of many between the two.
"As the industry continues to consolidate and streamline, we remain committed to the mobile games space," said Larry Shapiro, executive vice president and general manager, Starwave Mobile. "This deal represents an expansion of our services to innovative mobile publishers that develop quality titles with mass-market appeal such as GOSUB 60."
"Starwave Mobile shares our focus and dedication to expanding and innovating the mobile marketplace," stated Josh Hartwell, CEO of GOSUB 60, Inc. "For GOSUB 60 to team up with Starwave Mobile takes distributing and marketing casual games to the next level and paves the way for broader market adoption."
As you can see, they really like each other. Let's see if the honeymoon will last. Expect to see Blackjack Cheater, Solitaire Deluxe 12-Pack, Sudoku Deluxe, and other GOSUB 60 games on your handset soon.
