Square Enix Launches Final Fantasy: Crystal Guardians W2 (Import)
Wave after wave after wave.
If you've never heard of this series before, check out the demo video they have up on the game's official website. You'll notice that it's suspiciously similar to a well known desktop classic that we call Tower Defense. Players lay down different classes in positions across a map and then try to fend off as many waves of monsters as they can. This sequel to W1 -- which featured character classes from Final Fantasy Tactics A2 -- boasts new elements such as "crystal power" to increase the power and speed of your characters. A berserker class has also been added with knight and dragon templates.
A demo is available for download, but players are limited to certain classes, and the trial ends after 20 waves.
Now that the second game's out, I don't see why they shouldn't start work on a western release. It's not like there's a ton of text to translate, and it's a Final Fantasy-based tower defense game. There hasn't been a more potent combination since Snake in Smash Bros. Brawl.
