Spike Launches Dekotora Black (Import)
Dekotoras (an abbreviation for decoration trucks) are bright, flamboyantly decorated big rigs that you'll only find in the land of the rising sun. Your typical dekotora will have everything from flashing neon lights and paint to golden parts. Decorating styles can differ depending on region. Sodom from the Street Fighter Alpha drives one of these seizure inducing monsters.
About a year ago, Spike created a Wii game and a manga series based on these trucks, and Black on the DS is the latest game in the series.
Players deliver cargo along a crowded freeway while trying to avoid obstacles and outmaneuver -- and ideally, destroy -- rival trucks.
Players will be able to customize their dekotoras with all sorts of decals and external parts that will affect their vehicle's performance and durability.
There are a total of 21 story chapters with four hidden scenarios that are unlocked by winning bets against other truckers. Secret parts will also be made available in the shop as certain conditions are met.
It's Initial D meets Big Rigs, complete with over the top anime heroes and voluptuous (and questionably dressed) women. The only things missing are the obnoxious roadside commentators obsessing over your every move.
