Ubisoft Announces Imagine Rock Star
All the fantasy, none of the hangover.
Ubisoft's successful Imagine line of games for girls just got its newest addition with Imagine Rock Star, a game that lets girls aged 6-14 live out their dreams of being the next great rock artist.
The game allows players to assemble a group consisting of the usual drums, bass and guitar but eschews a lead singer position for a keyboardist instead. Each instrument will have its own unique control scheme that will take advantage of the DS stylus, and players will be able to customize the look of their band as they try to hit the number one spot on the charts and land a recording contract with a major label. Wireless play for up to four people will also be included but will be separate from the main career mode and limited strictly to jam sessions.
"Ubisoft has established itself as the leading publisher for girls and we are extremely pleased with the success of the first series of Imagine games," said Tony Key, senior vice president of marketing and sales at Ubisoft. "By allowing them to play, create and dream of the possibilities, Imagine Rock Star strengthens Ubisoft's position in this category and provides more DS options for young girl gamers."
