THQ Wireless Establishes Its New Base for World Domination
"Liquid hot magma."
THQ Wireless has opened up a new production studio in San Diego, California and has designated as its new global headquarters, interestingly enough. It's no secret Volcano lair, but California's poised to become the new Atlantis one of these days anyway, so they're on the right track I'd say.
The new office is going to become the company's main center for all its publishing processes including game design, production management, porting, QA testing and deployment. The place has about 30 employees so far with more being hired over the next several months, and the boss hog of the new building is VP of Operations, Lauren Thorpe.
Alongside this change of location, THQ has appointed Beth Doherty as the new Vice President of Sales in North America. She's an industry veteran with 20 years of service under companies like Sony and Glu Mobile.
THQ has also re-organized its product development and production teams by promoting former executive producer, Brad Pitser, to head of global production.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't discuss the word headquarters without seeing flashes of some Dr. No-esque lair. Beth Doherty and Brad Pitser aren't exactly what I'd call threatening pseudonyms though. No cat stroking megalomaniacs between those two, I figure.
